Still Traveling

Moving forward .
For the last 4 mnths or so I think, I have been in Sheboygan.
I was staying with a friend for a few months, sleeping on their floor, and now I am renting from a friend.
I have still been traveling but coming back to Sheboygan to sleep. I've been connecting with like minded thinkers in Appleton,  Mequon,  Grafton, Milwaukee area, trying to make something happen.
Ran out of money a long time ago but not quite out of credit, yet.
I would normally be afraid and worried about it all but I have come to know that I there is really no point in worrying at all. I accept that I am where I am and I will live through it as I always have.
I'm practicing gratitude,  for the unlimited abundance I have, and the freedom that I love so much, and a great and dependable car to move about in.
So I have the things I want right now at this very moment and that's all there is.

Raven

I saw a raven walkin on the road a while ago so I stopped and chatted a bit.
I wondered why with such a great gift of flight he would choose to walk...
Maybe The message was to not forget the value of our gifts, to not take them for granted.
This morning is my 8th day at Meander Lake.  I list track of time. It's been so perfect.  It only rains at night and the sun shines during the day. ( just as I planned ).
It's Bear hunting season here. I saw a Mother bear and two cubs on the Echo Trail this morning on the way to Ely. It makes me sad to wonder what would become of the Cubs this winter if their Mum was lost.

Buyck, Minn.

Well it's another beautiful day. It poured down rain last night. I was glad that my new ( gently used ) tent was water tight.
I was surprised to see 3 young ladies from Minneapolis campin there last night too.
They told me about this little town that's only about 20 miles North on the Echo trail. So I'm checking  it out this morning .
There's only a bar here.  They have COFFEE too. I was surprised to find out they have internet, cause there is no phone service at all up here.
Supposed to rain again tonight. May have to break camp. I'm thinking another week in Ely may be enough.

Heaven

This is the view I wake up to lately at Meander lake. It is so Beautiful.  There is no way I could put it into the words . There's a light breeze, blue sky, 70°. The only sounds I here as I'm sitting on this rock by the water is the wind blowing throw the leaves of the birch trees or an occasional Loon or Whipporwill. This is truly Peace and Quiet.
There's a calming energy in nature. It seems like it resets you, like a clock that has lost time, or forgotten it true nature. Our real purpose.
We should never take for granted the power of Nature. It's here to help us. It is part of us and we are part of nature.
I wish you could all spend some time in a place like this, away from all distractions for a week. To just experience true "quietness an peace.
Namaste

Alone in the wilderness

I moved from Tha campground today and am now at Meander Lake out on the Echo Trail.
This is a no fee campsite. Pretty rustic.
It's almost 9: pm and very dark, except for my campfire.
Not a sound either. No cell phone service. An hour from town. I have to s as Y I am a bit on edge.
It is a beautiful start night though. Making a little tea on the campfire now..
Starting to here the sounds of nature now.
A Beaver slapping his tail on the water,  leaves crackling.... a person's imagination could run wild out here.

The late night visitor

Twas another stormy night in the Kawishiwi River Campground at number 17.  The wind was blowing ,the thunder was crashing loud, lightning lit up the sky through my tent .  I stayed dry through the night , though I did have a bit of a fright about 2:45 in the AM.
Half sleeping, I though I felt a " presence". I was NOT alone in my cacoon...something was moving stealth fully on my sleeping bag. Moving closer and closer to my face. What could it be ??
A Giant Spider I thought, or a snake,  a frog perhaps. All would be unsatisfactory sleeping companions.
We'll it got to above my knees abd I finally realized i wasn't dreaming and kicked the sleeping bag up an Jumped over to the other side of the tent, about 6" maybe.
I scrambled for my phone to make some light.
Well. I spotted it just as it crawled under my pants. A Mouse. Its little Cole like black shiny eyes looking over its shoulder at me as it scurried off. Just as scared as I was I suspect.
After some maneuvering I was able to convince him or her to vacate the premises. I found a hole in my screen just about the size of a little mouse too.
Mice, Spiders, rain, thunder, lightning, mosquitos... Camping is Fun.

Makwa

Last night while I was talkin on the phone to a friend I could here brush breaking in the woods across the road. It was pitch black out. Than I here this crashing coming from the other direction and here this tree crash to the ground.
Did I mention it was pitch black out and know one else around.. I have a flash light in one hand and pepper spray in the other, waiting for a bear to come crashing through the brush.
We'll it never happens, but I must looked pretty funny to all the creatures of the night, scanning the woods with my flashlight with every little sound.
